Instructions for Library Techs at checkout:

  1. Remove the Wireless Router from packaging and inspect for previous damage or marks, make note of them.  Serials, Wi-Fi Password, Barcode should all be readable.

  2. Ensure that all accessories are included; (2x) two detachable antennas and (1x) power cable.

  3. Scan Library Barcode that is adhered to the top of the device and pre-form the checkout process to the patron.

  4. Ensure that the SIM Card is fully docked inside the Wireless Router on the back of the unit.

  5. Ensure the Wireless Router is in DC Power mode by verifying the button on the back of the unit is depressed.

  6. Assemble and instruct usage of the window mounting kit provided.  Provide guidance on the ideal mounting conditions, such as to be mounting to a window facing the library.

  1. Screw in the detachable antennas and plug in the DC power; wait for 2-3 minutes. The Wi-Fi, Cellular and Internet lights should all be green once booted as pictured below.

  1. Verify that the device is broadcasting a Wi-Fi Network Name (SSID) using your own Wi-Fi device (such as a cell phone, or Library Desktop).

  2. Write down Wi-Fi Network Name and Wi-Fi Password on the Universal Broadband User Setup Guide. Note that the Wi-Fi Password is marked as the “Wi-Fi Key” on the bottom of the wireless router. Please report if this label is damaged or unreadable.

  3. Show the Library Card Holder how to connect to the Wi-Fi using their own phone if possible. (This will get them familiar with the Wi-Fi Network Name and will save the connection on their device for when they plug it into at home).

  4. Re-package the Wireless Router and accessories for checkout.
